Power tool manufacturer Makita UK has launched a new cordless angle drill and a cordless earth auger, as part of its XGT 40VMax range.

The DA001G Brushless Angle Drill and DG001G Brushless Earth Auger both include Makita’s brushless motor, which allows for a longer run time as there are no moving parts in the motor that can cause energy loss through friction-generated heat.

“Brushless motors also do not need regular maintenance or replacement parts, which keeps the lifetime cost of the machine to a minimum,” said Makita.

The power tools, which come with a 3-year warranty, are both suitable for heavy duty applications and incorporate two speed gears.

Kevin Brannigan, Marketing Manager at Makita, said, “For any construction professional, having a range of powerful cordless machines to hand is key to ensuring maximum on-site efficiency and productivity – especially when embarking on high-demand applications.

“Our XGT range has been specifically designed to tackle these tasks without compromising on battery run time, so users can keep working disruption free for longer.”

The DA001G XGT 40VMax Brushless Angle Drill can be used with either a front or side handle, and offers no-load speed of up to 1,500rpm and a maximum torque of 136nm.

It also includes a torque limiter to protect the tool from mechanical overload and Makita’s Automatic Torque Drive technology, which automatically adjusts the tools’ output according to the load.

In addition to having the same two speed gear and torque technology as the angle drill, Makita’s new DG001G XGT 40VMax Brushless Earth Auger also includes a reverse setting that enables it to drill into high or low resistance soil.

Said to be comparable to a 36cc engine product, the DG001G offers a maximum drilling capacity of 200mm and 136nm of torque.

“For improved user handling, the earth auger attachment includes a bar which receives reaction force and an auxiliary handle which makes drilling holes easier,” said Matika.
