UK power tool manufacturer Makita has launched two new cordless lights, the ML005 40VMax XGT and ML009 40VMax XGT, as part of its range of site lighting equipment.

Both lights are compatible with 40VMax XGT and 18V LXT batteries, and, according to Makita, benefit from a compact design.

The ML005, the smaller of the two lights, delivers up to 3,600 lumens and 3 hours and 50 minutes of continuous illumination on high mode.

In comparison, the ML009 Cordless Worklight delivers up to 10,000 lumens, and when used with BL4040 batteries can last up to 2 hours and 40 minutes when on high mode.

Designed for use in environments where brighter lights are required to cover a larger area, the ML009 covers approximately 9.7m to the front and 11.4m to either side.

The LED colour of daylight white offers “optimum visibility for intricate work or decoration”, according to Makita.

Kevin Brannigan, Marketing Manager at Makita said: “Cordless work lights offer the ultimate in convenience, as there is no need for a power source, and they can be easily moved around the workspace.

“The new ML005 and ML009 work lights offer the additional benefit of being nice and compact - due to the retractable handles - whilst still delivering powerful illumination.”

Both the ML005 and ML009 are IP65 certified dust and water resistant and can be mounted to a tripod lighting stand when in use.
