Ardent Hire unveils ‘Ardent 2.0’ plan

Ardent Hire Solutions has said it is reshaping its business by moving away from earthmoving equipment and focusing on its material handling portfolio

The company said the move, dubbed Ardent 2.0, marks an ambitious shift towards telehandlers, roto telehandlers, and Fuel-ITs.

It follows the divestment of its excavators, rollers, dumpers and MEWPs earlier this year, with all of its 2,000 units in the access and earthmoving categories to be sold by the end of 2024.

Ardent said it will invest £50 million in more than 750 new machines next year, expanding its range of telehandlers and roto telehandlers, and vehicles, including a “substantial order” of telehandlers from JCB and over 100 telehandlers and roto telehandlers from Manitou.

The company also announced that it will invest a further £7million in HGV delivery vehicles.

At the same time, the company is to also continue its investment in its Fuel-IT offering, a fuel management system that enables remote fuel management, advanced diesel and HVO monitoring and usage insights.

By focusing on telehandlers and roto telehandlers, Ardent Hire said it will enable it to provide “specialist expertise tailored to the lifting and handling industry” and is a sign of its “commitment to leading the sector with purpose, precision, and a long-term vision for smarter, more sustainable operations.”

Julian O’Neill, CFO, Ardent Hire, said, “The transition secures the future for both Ardent and for our customers. “With a laser focus on this specific sector, backed by a multi-million-pound investment, Ardent will be able to provide equipment and service that are second to none, setting new standards for material handling and lifting hire.”
