Sunbelt adds drones to US rental fleet
19 September 2025
Sunbelt Rentals is partnering with US drone manufacturer Skydio to add the X10 drone to its rental fleet. Deployment began throughout the US on 15 September.
Skydio said Sunbelt is the first major equipment rental company to offer its drones for rental. The X10s will allow its customers in construction, infrastructure inspection, energy, emergency response and other industries to use the latest drone technology.
Matt DiDonato, director of Fleet Product Development at Sunbelt Rentals, said; “The X10’s best-in-class AI flight and 360-obstacle avoidance, advanced imaging and sensors, as well as ease of use, make it a perfect addition to our rental portfolio.

“Our customers now have a rental option giving them the freedom to scale drone usage as project demands evolve.”
Callan Carpenter, Skydio’s chief revenue officer, added; “Sunbelt Rentals’ reputation and reach enable it to serve customers nationwide and across all industries, helping these organizations gain access to Skydio’s products when and where they need it.”
Helping the two companies in the partnership was Velociti, a US company that helps businesses commercially deploy new technology.
Founded in 2014, Skydio designs, assembles, and supports its products in the US from its headquarters in San Mateo, California. Earlier this year it opened its first R&D office in Europe, in Tampere, Finland.
