BigRentz adds hotel booking for contractors

BigRentz, the procurement platform that allows contractors to search for a wide range of rental equipment and other products, has integrated the Engine online hotel booking platform into its website.

The partnership will enable contractors and jobsite crews to use Engine’s hotel booking platform through the BigRentz website.

BigRentz supports contractors with equipment coordination and logistics through its AI platform, SiteStack, and has a network of over 6,000 supplier partners across 14,000 locations in the USA. The new offering with Engine extends this support beyond the jobsite, helping staff simplify travel.

“BigRentz is becoming more than just a place to source equipment — we’re building the most complete technology platform in the construction space,” said Scott Cannon, CEO of BigRentz.

“This partnership with Engine is part of that vision. Our goal is to make the end-to-end experience better for every contractor, from project planning to check-in at the hotel.”

Spencer Carlson, partnerships director at Engine, said; “Our partnership with BigRentz goes beyond travel savings; it’s about integrating a critical part of project logistics directly into a platform that contractors already trust.

“This collaboration creates a more cohesive and cost-effective experience for crews and project managers nationwide by bringing together best-in-class technologies.”

Engine gives access to more than 700,000 hotel properties worldwide, including major brands. BigRentz said customers using the hotel service would earn 4% back in Engine Rewards and other benefits usually reserved for its most frequent travelers.

The announcement comes after BigRentz’s public launch of SiteStack, its SaaS platform for construction and facilities procurement. BigRentz said SiteStack was already powered over 100,000 orders every week.

The AI-powered platform offers real-time pricing transparency, vendor selection and predictive insights. It has been built on more than US$1 billion in transaction data and 20 million supplier responses, and supports over a dozen pricing models, geospatial routing logic and flexible deployment across fleets of any size.

Founded in 2012, BigRentz has since 2020 been in an alliance with Japan’s Itochu Corp. Itochu led a US$15 million investment round for BigRentz. Itochu is also a partial owner of Hitachi Construction Machinery.
