2Quip Corporation, a US-based equipment rental software and technology provider, has acquired Rentz Corp. Terms of the deal have not been disclosed.

Rentz Corp operates rentmyequipment.com, a peer-to-peer rental platform that connects individuals and small businesses looking to rent or lend tools and equipment.

The platform has built a substantial user base across the US, serving a wide range of sectors including construction, landscaping and events. Its fleet includes earthmoving equipment, aerial platforms and power tools.

Founded in 2019 and based in Kansas City, 2Quip provides an AI-powered SaaS platform and online marketplace for equipment rental. The company serves 23,000 users across 48 US states, offering digital tools for equipment owners and renters through its 2quip.ai platform.

Its proprietary AI system, known as “Alex,” supports features such as automated listing creation, competitive pricing analysis, real-time support, and upcoming modules for maintenance and vendor management.

The acquisition will integrate Rentz’s user base and listed inventory with 2Quip’s existing infrastructure, resulting in a combined portfolio of more than 8,500 listed items with a total estimated value of over $30 million.

2Quip said the deal supports its goal of expanding both domestically and internationally, with a target of reaching 35,000 users by the end of 2025.

Mark Costa, CEO and founder of 2Quip, said the acquisition aligns with the company’s goal of improving access to equipment and modernising rental operations using AI-driven tools. He added that the integration will offer users greater value and flexibility while helping owners grow and manage their businesses more efficiently.

He said, “Today, 2Quip sets a new industry standard as the undisputed leader in online equipment rentals and AI-driven technology. Our acquisition of Rentz Corp’s vibrant community accelerates our mission to reinvent how equipment is accessed and monetised.

“We’re not just transforming equipment rental-we’re shaping the future of the $56 billion market by making it smarter, more accessible, and more profitable for everyone.”

Mark Williams, CEO and founder of Rentz Corp, added that the move brings enhanced infrastructure and AI-based solutions to the Rentz user base, supporting business expansion and competitiveness in a changing market.

He said, “I’m thrilled to join forces with 2Quip and extend a more robust operating infrastructure built with modern AI solutions to our large user base. This acquisition equips our owners with powerful tools to grow and scale their businesses, ensuring they can compete and thrive in an evolving market.”
