Yanmar has announced it is to showcase two electric prototypes as part of its its range of all-new electric and low-emission machines at the International Rental Exhibition (IRE), which takes place in Maastricht from the 6 to 8 June.

According to the company, visitors to its stand will be able to see a glimpse of its future-ready solutions, including the SV17e electric mini excavator prototype.

Designed for the 1.5 to 2.0 tonnes segment, the unit is powered by an all-electric drive and has an open-centre hydraulic system with load-sensing hydraulic pump.

The SV17e delivers 23.5kWh gross electric power, while its 48V air-cooled motors provides “impressive digging, lifting and carrying capabilities,” according to Yanmar.

Also on show at IRE will be the V8e electric compact wheel loader with 40kWh battery capacity, hydrostatic drive and high-lifting capabilities.

The prototype machine has an 11kW charging in standard configuration and 22kW in optional fast charging. The V8e is said to be ideal for heavy lifting in all-terrain applications – including tight job sites.

For operator proficiency and safety, the V8e prototype’s multi-function joystick and design is combined with intuitive pilot controls.

Yanmar will also display its C08e electric carrier, an electric version of its C08 model that is fitted with an 11.5 kWh battery and a power capacity of 24V, alongside its ViO33 zero tail swing excavator.

The 3.3 tonne ViO33 is said to offer true zero tail swing, an ultra-quiet and efficient engine that is designed with 8.9kW output at 2,200 rpm and a small turning circle which makes the unit “uniquely manoeuvrable.”
