Revenues down for Atlas Copco

19 July 2016

Atlas Copco Construction Technique has recorded second quarter revenues of SEK3.915 billion (€412.52 million) – an 8% decrease from the same period a year ago.

Meanwhile, the company’s profits were up 7% to SEK490 million (€51.63 million) compared to the second quarter of 2015.

The company said that a lower demand in equipment was the reason for its revenues decline, while struggles in South America, and Africa and the Middle East have contributed to its fall.

The company did, however, report a growth in its operations in North America.

The company said, “The order volumes decreased for road construction equipment as well as for portable compressors and generators, while the order intake increased for construction and demolition tools.”

Reflecting on its rental business, the company added, “The specialty rental business had lower order intake compared to the previous year, but it was largely unchanged sequentially.

“Compared to the previous year, the order intake was higher in Asia, but significantly lower in Africa/Middle East and in South America.”
