The new HR009G 40VMax Brushless Rotary Hammer is powered by Makita’s XGT battery system and offers 3.9 joules of impact energy for drilling holes in masonry up to 30mm diameter quickly and efficiently.

It is fitted with a quick change SDS Plus Chuck to alternate between SDS Plus and conventional keyless chucks and has Makita’s anti-vibration technology (AVT) to reduce vibration levels for comfortable operation.

Three operating modes – Rotary only, Hammer only, and Rotation with Hammer - are available for high-performance jobs.

The tool features AWS – Makita’s Auto-start Wireless System to connect with a compatible dust extractor via Bluetooth; and can also be fitted with the new DX11 Dust Extraction attachment, sold separately.

The HR009G also has a trigger lock function, electric brake and anti-restart function and Active Feedback Sensing Technology (AFT) that turns the motor off if the bit rotation is suddenly forced to stop.

Kevin Brannigan, Marketing Manager at Makita, said; “As with all products from the XGT range, this is a smart, high performance tool that will be an excellent addition to any toolkit, especially for those working on high-drain conditions.

The 40VMax Brushless Rotary Hammer follows several recent XGT launches, including the MR009GZ Radio-Lantern, the CS002GD201 Metal Cutter (now including batteries and charger), the CL003GZ04 Stick Vac with a built-in Cyclone, and Makita’s largest capacity battery - the 8Ah BL4080F 40VMax XGT battery.
