Mecalac 3.5MDX site dumper

Mecalac has added a new Stage V compliant cabbed site dumper model to its MDX equipment range.

The 3.5MDX dumper has an operating weight of 2.9 tonnes and at 3.8m long and 1.9m wide, was described by Mecalac as being highly manoeuvrable and suitable for use in confined spaces.

Designed to be “rental tough”, the new 3.5MDX has a maximum payload of 3.5 tonnes and is powered by a Kubota D1803 1.8L turbocharged diesel engine that can provide up to 250.5Nm of torque at 1600rpm.

It also features high and low gears for both forward and reverse movement and includes permanent hydrostatic four-wheel drive. According to the manufacturer, this enables operators to move loads in particularly challenging site conditions.

Mecalac’s latest addition also incorporates an articulated and oscillating chassis for off-road capability and includes safety features such as start & drive interlock, a fuel loss warning sensor, automatic idle shut-off and Stop-Start Control.

According to the manufacturer, the dumper’s cab offers reduced vibration and noise and a high level of site visibility thanks to its large windows and curved windscreen. While the interior of the cab is fitted with an adjustable seat and ergonomic controls, the exterior is fitted with three standard cameras that give operators an even greater view of the machine and site.

Mecalac said customers could purchase the model with either a swivel tip skip with 180° rotation for lateral unloading without manoeuvres or with a front tip skip.

Yellowbook The Yellow Book is now available online as a fully searchable and free-to-use directory of a wide selection of construction equipment.
