MBW, the US-based manufacturer of concrete finishing and soil compaction equipment, is to expand its operations, with the addition of a new building at its headquarters in Wisconsin.

To increase its manufacturing capacity and improve its manufacturing workflow, the company plans to move its sales, marketing, accounting, service, engineering and research & development departments to a new office space - the construction of which is currently scheduled to finish in March 2023.

While MBW’s new building will include larger service and customer training areas, its key feature will be an indoor product testing area.

“Currently done outdoors, testing is typically shut down for about 4 months out of the year due to the brutal Wisconsin winter weather,” said MBW.

“The new building will have an indoor area that will allow year-round product testing.”

This latest news from MBW, which has been in operation for more than 50 years and is also established in Europe, comes as the company also makes a significant investment in its manufacturing equipment.

Aiming to provide “a more customer focused schedule”, MBW recently installed a new Doosan CNC (computer numerical control) lathe at its manufacturing base. While the exact model was not disclosed, the PUMA-series machine does feature a 24-station turret, Y axis, sub-spindle and also offers the company “the potential for future automation”.

MBW said, “Our new Doosan lathe will help reduce lead time of machined parts, allow for a more customer focused schedule and of course add capacity. All of these things will help to position MBW to continue to be a leader in the concrete finishing and soil compaction construction equipment.”
