Kiloutou partners with ShareMat on digital twins

Kiloutou has partnered with French digital start-up ShareMat to offer a fleet management tool built around the digital twin concept.

Combining telematics, documentation and collaboration, ShareMat uses digital twin technology to display a virtual representation of physical items of equipment.

Kiloutou has confirmed that following the collaboration, its customers, primarily long-term users of equipment, now have access to the digital twins of 30,000 construction and lifting machines.

ShareMat allows customers to access paperless documentation and telematic data on Kiloutou’s rental equipment. They can also share information with employees involved in the use or management of equipment.

Accessible via a smartphone or desk top computer, information includes user’s manual, CE certificate (confirming compliance with EU standards), activity data, location data and defect alerts.

The platform enables planning of maintenance or logistics interventions, and reports can be added to the database.

Vincent Ranaivoson, Director of Transformation for the Kiloutou Group said, “Kiloutou is the specialist in the performance of its customers’ worksites. As such, we are pleased to be able to facilitate their daily life on the job site by saving them time in managing their material resources. The triple approach of telematics, documentation and collaboration developed by the ShareMat platform is unique.”

Jean-Luc Firmin, founder of ShareMat said, “With Kiloutou, 30,000 digital twins are now accessible to professionals. It’s the first time that this covers such a large amount of equipment.

“This new service, which is useful for various operators on worksites, will facilitate exchanges, save time and increase productivity for Kiloutou customers.”

At Intermat in 2018 ShareMat launched a telematics service comprising a small GPS tracker and vibration sensor that detects when an engine is running and records operating hours.
