Hyundai introduces midweight A-Series excavator

Hyundai Construction Equipment Europe has expanded its A-Series range with the launch of the HW150A CR wheeled excavator.

The compact radius model has an operating weight of 16.9 t and is fitted with a Stage-V compliant 129 kW (173 hp) B4.5 diesel engine from Cummins.

Like its sister machines, the HW140A, HW160A and HW170A CR, the A-Series excavator has a repositioned cab that allows for a reduced tailswing and greater stability in comparison to the manufacturer’s previous H-Series models.

According to Hyundai, the HW150A has been design to “confidently work” on projects where space is limited and is available with single or two-piece boom options.

Peter Sebold, product manager at Hyundai Construction Equipment Europe, said: “The all new HW150A CR is born from the requirements of urban job sites. Its rear short radius allows for top manoeuvrability as well as for operator convenience and safety.”

“We made the choice of using components and systems from reputable suppliers, which already pays off in terms of performance and durability.

“The powerful engine, in combination with load sensing hydraulics, gives the machine smooth controllability, along with high performance, as well as an enhanced versatility. A wheeled excavator just the way you want it. No frills, easy to handle and thoroughly robust.”

Inside the cab of the HW150A operators will find Hyundai’s 20 cm (8 in) touchscreen dispaly, which gives access to all machine functions and control settings, and a steering column that can be adjusted in three different ways to maximise operator comfort.
