UK construction equipment rental firm Hewitson Plant Hire (HPH) has added a 50 new Kubota excavators to its fleet, following a “significant” increase in trade.
Based in Stockton-on-Tees near Middlesbrough in the north east of England, HPH provides construction equipment rental and sales services across the region.
Anticipating a continued rise in demand, HPH expanded its fleet with machines ranging from Kubota’s micro excavators to its 8-tonne models.
Owen Hewitson, director at Hewitson Plant Hire, said, “When operating in the midst of a pandemic, it’s vitally important that we provide operators with machinery that simply gets the job done in the toughest conditions, so it was a simple decision to continue to invest in Kubota excavators.
“The recent business growth is testament to the reputation we have built over the past 25 years on providing market leading machinery to meet customer demand.”
While the company did not reveal all the models included in its equipment order, the purchase did included a number of Kubota’s 5-tonne Kubota U50-5 mini excavator.
Part of Kubota’s latest generation of machinery, the U50-5 mini excavator weighs 4.8 tonnes and is Stage V compliant. It offers a maximum digging depth of 3.37m and features a load sensing hydraulic system for smoother operation and an auto-shift system.
HPH ordered the new excavators through its local Kubota dealer, P V Dobson & Sons.
