Cummins announces Q3 results and record EBITDA

Cummins has reported Q3 2026 revenues of $9.4 billion, a 13% increase over year-on-year numbers from 2025.

This was supported by 15% growth in sales across North America, while sales in China pushed international sales up by 11%.

Sales across the Component business reached $2.9 billion, an increase of 23%. Looking at only North America, revenues increased 35%.

EBITDA for Q3 2026 was a record $1.8 billion, or 18.9% of sales. Figures from the same period in 2025 were $1.2 billion, or 14.3% of sales.

One of the only downsides to the report was Accelera, which reported sales of $103 million, down 15%. This was attributed to a decline in electrolyzer sales after a ‘strategic review’ of the business.

Based on current performance, Cummins is expecting revenue growth of approximately 10%, compared to forecast numbers of between 10 and 13%.

According to Jennifer Rumsey, Chair and CEO of Cummins, the performance figures were driven in part by data center power requirements. On the other hand, while medium- and heavy-duty truck sales have improved, customer orders in the pickup market have been weak.

“We delivered record EBITDA and earnings per share in the third quarter, led by continued strength in our Power Systems business,” she commented.

“I’m proud of our employees’ focus on execution and confident our market-leading positions and broad portfolio will enable us to continue to deliver for customers, improve our financial performance cycle-over-cycle and return cash to shareholders.”

In August this year, Cummins announced that the Power Generation business had been selected to deliver battery energy storage systems for a large data center project in the United States.

Over the same quarter, the company completed its 2026 Forever Rising Tour, which presented the new 2027 X15, X15N and X10 engines to more than 500 dealers and customers.
