Electric equipment provider HEVI, the industrial heavy equipment arm of Chinese electric industrial vehicle and drivetrain systems manufacturer Greenland Technologies Holding Corp., has added a 5-ton model to its line of all-electric drive loaders. Suited for ranging from agriculture to waste management, the 3.9-cu.-yd. GEL-5000 has an operating weight of 39683 lbs., a payload of 11023 lbs. and a maximum dumping height of 11.8 ft. Maximum travel speed is 22.37 mph.

The unit incorporates an electric drive motor rated 120 kW/169.9 hp and electric working motor rated 90 kW/120.6 hp. Its lithium ion phosphate (LiFePo4) battery is rated 618.24 V. An expanded battery capacity (282 kWh) enables eight hours of operation with as little as three hours of charging time.

The reduction in moving parts compared to internal combustion-powered models enables reduced maintenance with lower total cost of ownership over the life of the machine, according to HEVI.
