ERA committee on technical training and education

By Belinda Smart30 August 2022

The second round of ERA Technical Committee face-to-face meetings for this year will take place on 26 and 27 October during bauma and will focus on the topic of technical training and education.

Rental companies observe that OEMs already have training material available but that ‎this material, very often, doesn’t meet the needs of the rental companies.‎ Therefore, the rental company members of ERA request training materials adapted to their needs. ‎These materials should be provided by the OEMs and concern levels 1 and 2 out of ‎the 4 levels of training defined by the rental companies: https://erarental.org/publications/trainings-levels-1-and-2-era-technical-committees-recommendation/.

In those meetings, the rental companies expect the OEMs to be ready to present their training materials for rental companies and to discuss whether they fit their needs, or to present the progress made to adapt existing materials and to validate that with the rental companies.

A selection of OEMs is invited to participate.

The format remains unchanged compared to the previous rounds of face-to-face meetings: the fleet managers of the rental company members of the Committee split into two or three groups, with each group having a 90-minute session with each OEM.

This is a return to two rounds of face-to-face meetings a year for the Committee following COVID-19, the first of which took place in June in Riga, Latvia, the day before the ERA Convention, and focused on the topic of decarbonisation.

If you are a rental company member of ERA and that you are interested in joining the Technical Committee and the face-to-face meetings, please do not hesitate to contact the ERA Secretariat at era@erarental.org.
