Aggreko has launched its latest Tier 4 Final generators into the Canadian market.

The units, which have been available in the US since 2022, are now available in Canadian Standards Association (CSA)-certified options ranging from 100kW to 500kW.

The company said it designed the generators to comply with the most stringent emissions regulations for diesel generators, inlcuding the Canadian Environmental Protection Act (CEPA) and the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

The units come with a variety of advanced exhaust treatment processes - including a diesel particulate filter, selective catalytic reduction system and diesel oxidation catalyst - to remove harmful pollutants, while Aggreko added that they achieve a 98% reduction in the volume of particulates and a 96% reduction in NOx emissions when compared with standard generators.

They are also able to operate on alternative fuels such as Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil (HVO), while also offering operators load management tools to minimise fuel consumption and Aggreko’s Remote Monitoring services to reduce service costs and interruptions associated with in-person service checks.

Stephen Saal, vice president of sales & marketing of Aggreko North America said, “We’re excited to expand the availability of our most advanced diesel generators to our Canadian customers.

“Canada has been a central part of our global operations since we began business in the country in the 1980s. Our Canadian customers are some of our most valued relationships, and we are happy to be able to bring them greener solutions and offer our Tier 4 Final for their temporary power needs.”

The Tier 4 Final fleet forms part of Aggreko’s Greener Upgrades initiative, which bundles together cleaner solutions in packages tailor-made for customers looking to improve efficiencies, reduce costs and lower emissions.

The units have been installed on several sites in the US since being launched last year, including construction sites, natural gas plants, data centers and mining sites.
