Acme Lift Co. has appointed Brian Stanley as its vice president of business development for the Eastern portion of the U.S. Stanley has more than 30 years of expeirence in equipment sales, management and rentals.

“The addition of Brian to the Acme Lift team adds unique and significant depth to our rental, customer service, and new product introduction capabilities,” said Woody Weld, chairman and chief executive officer of Acme Lift. “His work in both the rental and equipment sales industries makes Brian uniquely attuned to all of the equipment requirements of our constantly evolving rental customer base.”

“Brian is a true veteran of our industry and is extremely knowledgeable and customer-focused,” said Mike Crouch, president and chief operating officer of Acme Lift. “I worked with him in the early days of United Rentals and he has matured in the industry over these many years. We are lucky and pleased to have Brian join the Acme Lift team.”

“I am proud and fortunate to be a part of the Acme Lift team,” Stanley said. “It’s exciting to be surrounded by passionate people with a relentless focus on customer service. I share the same passion for the business along with the high expectations and the visions of both Woody and Mike.

“With my background and roots in the aerial equipment business, I am confident I can assist with the continued growth of Acme Lift in eastern North America, and I look forward to working with the many friends and colleagues in the industry.”

Stanley came to Acme Lift from the Northville, MI-based headquarters of the Jack Doheny Companies, where he had been director of specialty equipment and strategic accounts since May 2014. He successfully launched the Bronto-Skylift line of ultra-tall truck-mounted aerial lifts for the company. While at Doheny, he focused on the electrical transmission industry, building and maintaining the country’s electrical grid.

Prior to working at Doheny, he started the Michigan-based branch of Equipment Supply Co. in 1994. When United Rentals acquired Equipment Supply in 1998, Stanley became branch manager of the United Rentals aerial equipment group. He moved to district and region jobs, then to the national account department, where he worked with the largest contractors and entities focusing on large-scale capital construction and maintenance projects.

Before starting Equipment Supply, he briefly worked in the hydraulic crane business for Detroit-based Curran Crane Co. He began his career in the aerial lift industry in 1986 as a telemarketer at S&R Equipment Co., then spent the next seven years as a salesman for the company.
