Magni launches new fixed boom telehandlers

Premium Content

Magni has officially launched a new range of fixed boom telehandlers, complementing its existing range of rotating telehandlers.

The new TH range comprises seven models, which are being built at the Italian manufacturer’s 35,000 square metre facility, formally its only production base.

With the recent completion of a new 35,000 square metre headquarters, on a 200,000 square metre site, where Magni’s existing RTH rotating telehandler range will now be produced, the company has the capacity to manufacture 3,000 rotating and 1,500 fixed boom units a year.

With rotating units from 8m to 24m lifting height, the TH range comes with 5 tonne to 6 tonne capacities: 5.5 tonnes lifting capacity, 15m lifting height; 5.5 tonnes capacity, 19m height; 5.5 tonnes capacity, 24m height; 6 tonnes capacity, 10m height; 5 tonnes capacity, 8m height; and 6 tonnes capacity, 20m height.

The machines have compact dimensions in relation to their lifting capacity, says Magni, and include multi-disc brakes, four-wheel drive and four-wheel steer. The self-levelling system comes as standard, allowing the equipment to work on a range of irregular terrain and operates at between -8 and +8 degrees.

The new design incorporates a lowered chassis that drops the centre of gravity, providing extra stability. Despite this, the company says there is still an outstanding level of ground clearance.

The state-of-the-art cab comes with full visibility, FOPS/ROPS and 100% air filtration, adjustable steering column and a 7-inch touch screen. It allows the operator to easily see a range of variables, including driving, lifting, outriggers and cab management, and provides written messages in 11 languages.

Other features across the TH models include pivoting stabilisers, which are quick and easy to deploy, while the boom stays in shape when retracted so there are no protrusions at the front of the machine.

The range is powered by a Deutz engine, with Stage V, VF or 3A options and is designed for easy access and maintenance.

The largest 75kW version comes with air conditioning as standard, basket positioning and the ability to work with suspended loads. The entry level 55kW machine is a more basic model, yet has air conditioning available as an option. All models feature a load sensing system, an electro-proportional joystick and a control system that complies to EN 13489 safety standards.

The hydraulics’ electric management system means the best engine speed is automatically chosen for the required power, providing a reduction in fuel consumption. The manufacturer also uses pipes, rather than hoses, for a range of benefits, including a tidy set up that helps with maintenance.

The booms are made from high tensile streel, making them tough and flexible, while increasing load capacity. An automatic attachment system also comes as standard, making attachment changes easy for each model, as well as between Magni’s TH and RTH ranges. Once an attachment is added it is recognised automatically and the display uploads the load chart and load limit is set.
