JLG’s New Perspective goes live

JLG Industries hosted its New Perspective event, which the manufacturer is providing as an alternative to its presence at exhibitions like Bauma, in the UK earlier in May.

Taking place from 9 to 20 May, different groups of distributors and their customers from Europe, Latin America, the Middle East, India and South Africa, were welcomed to the live event at the company’s UK location in Leicester, while a virtual version ran simultaneously for those unable to attend in person.

It followed the first smaller New Perpespective event in March, just for distributors, also held at the Leicester facility, and the company’s previous annoucement that it would not be attending Bauma and other exhibitions.

On arrival guests were entertained by an immersive video experience that charted the history of the company, before being ushered inside. They then had the opportunity to see a range of JLG’s latest equipment and demonstrations inside and outside the building. This included the 670SJ self-levelling boom, X22JP compact crawler boom, 860SJ HC3 high capacity boom lift, EC450AJ electric articulating boom lift, the DSP series of stock pickers, the Toucan mast lift range, and the electric ERT and RT scissor lifts.

Keynote presentations were given from the dedicated electrification area, which was flanked by sustainable solutions such as the manufacturer’s electric engine conversion kit and the DaVinci all-electric scissor lift. Visitors could also put their operating skills to the test in a specially created maze game, controlling the DaVinci AE1932 using the JLG Mobile Control phone app.

As the UK is the home of JLG’s low level access range, those products were featured prominently in the line up. Guests were invited to take tours of the factory, see the paint line via a live video feed, and view the low level access demo area from an elevated position on a specially-built platform.

For those unable to attend the New Perspective event in person, the virtual event continues to run, offering a content hub of four different zones: core products, low level access equipment, electrification solutions and customer care. Products can also be explored through AR and a range of videos, while visitors can ask questions to JLG experts. Customer care is also a key focus, with service, maintenance, warranty and digital solutions showcased.

Karel Huijser, JLG general manager and vice president for EMEAIR, commented, “We wanted to cater equally to all audiences with our New Perspective event. It’s great to see that the demand for live events is back, while the demand for virtual environments is still high. That is why we went hybrid. Through our www.jlgnewperspective.com a lot about JLG can be discovered.”
