HSS Irish sale cleared by competition authorities

Irish competition authorities have cleared the sale of HSS Hire’s Irish rental business to Grafton Group plc.

Grafton is the owner of the Chadwicks building materials business and Sam Hire, which rents small plant and tools from 23 locations in the Republic of Ireland.

HSS said the sale – announced at the start of April - was expected to be finalised at the end of May. 

HSS is selling its Irish business to Grafton for €31.6 million. It will be integrated within Chadwicks, adding four branches and four distribution centres.
