Get ready for European Rental Week, 13-19 October

28 August 2025

The third European Rental Week (ERW) takes place on 13 to 19 October this year and will again have the aim of promoting the benefits of rental within the wider construction equipment sector in Europe and to highlight career opportunities in the sector.

Organised by the European Rental Association, the theme for the week this year is Empowering the future: transitions, sustainability, people, with the three themes chosen to highlight the industry’s commitments in these areas.

“Let’s join forces to make this week a memorable and impactful celebration of the ‎equipment rental industry’s achievements and innovations”, said ERA.

Visit https://europeanrentalweek.eu/ for more information.

The association has shared a communications toolkit, which includes all the information and imagery needed to participate in and promote the European Rental Week.

The themes are as follows:

Transition (digital, energy and more)‎
Digital transformation: ERA is emphasising how digitisation improves the customer experience, operational ‎efficiency, ‎asset management, and smart rental solutions—through telematics, ‎BIM, cybersecurity, and ‎more.‎

Energy transition: rental is embracing electrification and alternative fuels. The ERA’s ‎‎2025 ‎Energy Transition project provides guidance on this, and positions rental as a leader ‎in digital and energy innovation by supporting the circular, low-‎carbon economy. It will ‎amplify ERA’s voice among OEMs, policymakers and end users.‎

Sustainability
Thje ERA points out that renting supports shared use, repairability, and recyclability—minimising waste and ‎‎‎extending equipment life.‎ ERA’s CO₂ calculator, Carbon Reporting Guidance and ‎‎Sustainability KPI Framework v3.0 ‎enable standardised tracking of environmental ‎‎impacts as well as compliance with EU reporting ‎standards.‎

People (pride in being in the rental industry)
Talent attraction & retention: ERA’s research (‘How to compete with other industries…’) and People ‎Committee ‎reports ‎focus on recruitment, career progression, HR KPIs, and ‎employer branding for ‎technicians, ‎drivers, engineers, and managers.‎

The ERA has created a dedicated website for the week, providing more information as well as the communications toolkit. It also suggests ways in which companies and individuals can get involved, including:

  • Organise an event, workshop, demonstration, training, interactive session, etc.
  • Run a competition
  • Showcase the skills of your employees
  • Host an open day in a depot with jobseekers, schools, students, customers, etc.
  • Invite a local/national politician to a depot
  • Involve the media
  • Use social media
  • Make a video
