Caterpillar offers ‘self-service’ kits

Premium Content

Caterpillar has introduced Self-Service Options (SSO) for customers who prefer to do their own routine maintenance and minor repairs.

The SSO kits will cover common repairs on more than 300 models from Cat Building & Construction Products, with more to follow in 2022.

SSOs will be offered for small wheeled loaders, mini excavators, telehandlers and other products.

Product types covered include compact tracked, skid steer and multi-terrain loaders, compact wheel loaders, backhoe loaders, mini excavators, small wheel loaders, small dozers, and telehandlers.

The type of repairs include minor engine bolt-ons, service brakes for drivetrains, hydraulics and implement controls.

Each SSO has a defined list of Cat parts, new and remanufactured, specific to the model and the repair. They include step-by-step service instructions and recommended purchase of all required tooling for each repair.

SSOs can be ordered online at www.parts.cat.com or through Cat dealers. Cat dealers can also provide guidance on the right SSO for the repair and on any customisation required.
