A fun-run and walk to raise money for a local Maastricht charity is being organised by Access International and APEX on the final morning of the exhibition.

The 6 km run will be held at 7.00 am on Friday 16 September and starts at the Forum square next to the NH Hotel at the MECC exhibition centre.

Funds raised will be given to Ronald McDonald House, a worldwide charity that provides accommodation to the families of children being treated for serious illnesses.

The charity has a facility in Maastricht linked to the city's university hospital (azM), which is located next to the MECC centre. Funds will directed to the charity's house in Maastricht.

All those attending the exhibition - exhibitor staff and visitors to the show - are invited to run. There will be a €20 charge to enter and companies or individuals can support the event for €500. (Each supporting company can enter three runners without paying the €20 individual fee.) All funds will be donated to the charity.

You don't need to be an experienced runner to participate. The route is a double 3 km loop, so those who prefer can walk or jog a single 3 km circuit.

"The run should be good fun, but is also an opportunity for us to support a charity that is local to the APEX exhibition", said Murray Pollok, managing editor of Access International. "So the message is, when you come to Maastricht in September, bring your running shoes."

For more information, and to sign up as a supporting company, please contact Wil Holloway ([email protected]), Maria Hadlow ([email protected]) or Murray Pollok ([email protected]).

Pre-registration to run isn't required, but if you are planning to turn up then please try to let us know so that we have a good idea of the numbers. We look forward to seeing you there.
