Turkish manufacturer Elsisan (ELS Makine) has moved in to booms for the first time with the 15 m working height electric AE15 articulated boom. It will be launched at APEX 2014.

The company already produces a full range of 6 m to 14 m working height scissors, and has seen a significant rise in the Turkish market and beyond. “We decided that having a full battery range with articulating booms would be more accurate for the market. Consequently we started the production of battery booms before diesel models,” said Hilmi Müdür, technical manager.

It is designed for flexibility in indoor and outdoor applications with quiet operation. It allows you to work in a wide area with its outreach feature. All the company’s products are CE-marked and the company is for the first time aiming them at the European market on its stand (730) at APEX. A world focus will follow shortly afterwards.

APEX takes place 24-26 June at the Amsterdam RAI in the Netherlands. Register at www.apexshow.com

Concernng Turkey, Mr Müdür says there has been major growth in the last two years. “Use of self propelled booms is growing with each passing day. Large construction projects are increasing their use of this machinery.

As organisations in the country adopt the OHSAS 18001, which is an international standard created in the UK to help organisations around the world improve health and safety, Mr Müdür forecasts the AWP market will grow in paralell.

The company hopes to become a popular global supplier of booms and plans to increase its research and development budget to grow the range. “We are aware that we should have a full range to be able to meet all demands and to compete.”

In addition, the company is planning to expand its facilities for diesel booms.
