24 November 2011

Manufacturer of underground construction equipment Ditch Witch celebrated 10 years of operations at its Barcelona plant last month with a gathering of more than 300 customers and equipment dealers.

The all-day event, held on 28 October, also afforded dealers a first look at the US company's new RT Walk Behind trenchers.

Also on show were Ditch Witch horizontal directional drilling lines, the MT12 Micro Trencher, RT115 Quad Trenchers, vacuum excavation systems and HammerHead products.

According to Joe Smith, Jr, international sales manager for Ditch Witch, the anniversary celebration was the "largest event to date" to be held at the company's Barcelona office, with talk amongst attendees pointing to improved confidence in the construction sector for 2012 and onwards.

He said: "The overall mood of the contractors was that 2012 is going to be another strong year for the construction industry. There are still some cautious attitudes, but overall we expect 2012 to be as strong or slightly up compared to 2011."
