Glass handling equipment hire and sales specialist Peter Hird & Sons Ltd has been appointed as UK representative for GMV Handling Winlet glazing robots.

Hird has entered into an agreement with Danish manufacturer GMV to represent two Winlet machines: the Winlet 350, which has a maximum glass lifting capacity of 350kg, and the Winlet 575, with a maximum capacity of 575kg.

Both models provide overhead glass installation capability. They also combine powerful vacuum lifter technology, via four glass vacuum suction cups.

The Winlet 350 has a maximum lift height of 2.8m and side-carry capacity of 200kg, but is still narrow enough to fit through a standard doorway.

The Winlet 575 has a maximum lift height of 3.6m and a side-carry capacity of 275kg yet can transport glass through standard double doors.

The machines have an intelligent load monitoring system fitted as standard, enhancing operator safety and reducing the risk of load damage.

Both glass handling machines have all-terrain capability for maximum flexibility. They also provide 360 degree continual rotation and wired remote controls delivering variable speed controls for the most accurate and safest placement of glass or windows.

The Winlet can also be used to carry and place other materials such as concrete, plasterboard, tiles, steel plates, doors and stone sheets.
