Wacker Neuson launches electric compactors

By Leila Steed19 August 2021

Wacker Neuson has launched a new series of vibratory plates that includes three electric models that offer “100% emission-free work and energy savings of over 70%”.

Wackner Neuson APS vibratory plates Wacker Neuson’s battery powered APS vibratory plates offer zero emissions.

Offering centrifugal forces ranging between 10 and 13kNW, the new APS Series comprises three models – the APS1030e, APS1135e and the APS1340e – with base widths of 30, 35 and 40cm respectively.

The APS vibratory plates are suitable for standard soil and fresh asphalt compaction applications and feature a maintenance-free electric motor and rechargeable lithium-ion battery, which can be changed without tools thanks to its modular design.

This design also means operators can use the same battery “as a module for all other battery-powered equipment” made by the compact equipment specialist, including battery-powered rammer and internal vibrator models.

Wacker Neuson, which is currently building a new logistics centre at its Reichertshofen site to the north of Munich in Germany, said, “As of fall 2021, the construction equipment battery will also be usable independent of manufacturer. This way, customers benefit from simplified construction site logistics and cost savings.”

It added that the APS battery-powered vibratory plates work “without direct exhaust emissions” and that the can be used in areas with low-emission regulations and for trenching and shoring applications.

Wackner Neuson APS and BPS vibratory plates The new APS and BPS vibratory plate series is available to customers in Europe.

Stefan Pfetsch, managing director of Wacker Neuson Produktion GmbH, said, “It’s important to us to be able to deliver the right solution for every customer requirement. And we achieve this with a wide selection of conventional and battery-powered products, for which the demand is continually growing.

“Emission-free working is gaining in importance, as limit values with regard to exhaust emissions are becoming stricter and awareness for climate protection is getting stronger.”

Alongside the front mounted electric machines, Wacker Neuson has also launched the diesel powered BPS1030A, BPS1135A and BPS1340A models, which complete the class range.

Both the electric and diesel vibratory plates are available in ‘-we’ versions that include an 8lt water tank and sprinkling set.
