Ten access manufactures feature in equipment global top 50

04 April 2012

Ten powered access equipment manufacturers made it into sister magazine International Construction's 2012 Yellow Table - a ranking of the world's 50 largest construction equipment manufacturers. The highest placed was Terex, which was 8th in the ranking, up two places from its position a year ago. Other powered access manufacturers in the listing included XCMG (11th), JLG (21st), Manitou (26th), Tadano (29th), Palfinger (30th), Merlo (42nd), Aichi (45th), Haulotte (47th) and Skyjack (49th).

Five of the companies gained places in the rankings compared to last year, although the biggest gains, for Terex and Haulotte, saw the companies move up just two places each. In contrast, four companies lost ground, the biggest being Aichi's five-place drop, while Skykjack was a new entrant to the Yellow Table.

The Yellow Table is based on revenues from construction equipment sales in 2011. The ranking was topped by Caterpillar, followed by Komatsu and Volvo Construction Equipment.
