Spain’s LoxamHune becomes CO2 neutral

Spanish rental company LoxamHune has achieved ISO 14064 accreditation from certification body AENOR, for measuring, reporting and elimination of greenhouse gas (GHG) at organisation level.
LoxamHune - which is part of the Loxam Group - said it’s the first company in Spain’s equipment rental sector to measure and track its carbon footprint via the Spanish Ministry for Ecological Transition and Demographic Challenge’s registry.
It adds that since the end of 2020 it has also been carbon neutral, offseting its carbon footprint by investing in UN carbon credits earmarked for environmental projects in Spain and Brazil.
In recent times LoxamHune has also invested in electric equipment, which now makes up 36% of its rental fleet. Other green initiatives include paperless processing for customers and suppliers; remote maintenance of machinery using IoT; and the recovery of more than 80% of all waste for subsequent reuse.
“We have made every effort to take stock of our actual emissions so that we can identify the measures needed to control and reduce them, said CEO Luis Ángel Salas.
“Our company considers the concepts of sustainability and environmental commitment to be fundamental values which define who we are and what we do.”
The company obtained its first ISO certification from certification body AENOR 10 years ago, for Environmental Management Systems and Quality Management Systems.
