Renta Group is to acquire Swedish general rental company Rondellen. No financial details of the transaction have been disclosed.

Headquartered in Kinna, Rondellen rents from its four depots in Landvetter, Kinna, Varberg and Partille. The company, which opened its first facility in 2011, also offers sales, traffic closures and job training.

Renta said the purchase, which is scheduled to close in March, strengthens its position in the Gothenburg area, where it already has depots in Kungsbacka, Sisjön, Ringön and Kungälv.

It added that it complements its geographical presence and adds to its capabilities in the region within infrastructure customers and in traffic safety solutions.

A statement on the Rondellen website said the transaction focuses on its equipment rental and traffic equipment offerings respectively, and will enable the rental industry in the Gothenburg and Halland region to “reach new heights.”

Samuel Lundberg, CEO, Rondellen, “We are excited about becoming a part of Renta, a company that shares our ambition to grow and develop the business further. Joining forces with Renta will extend our product offering to site modules, tunnelling equipment and pumps, enabling us to serve our customers with a broader offering than before.

“In addition, our customers will benefit from the digital solutions that Renta has developed, such as Renta Easy. I am confident that Renta will provide a good home for our employees, and that we will together be able to accelerate growth in the region.”

Kari Aulasmaa, CEO of Renta Group, added that the acquisition of Rondellen marks a continuation of its strategic agenda to build nationwide rental networks in core markets; “Rondellen is an excellent fit to Renta thanks to its complementary presence around Gothenburg and its capabilities in traffic safety. With the acquisition Renta’s position in the region will be further strengthened. We are very pleased to join forces and look forward to working together with the professionals of Rondellen.“

The deal comes just days after Renta Group announced preliminary results for the 2023 financial year, which revealed net sales of €455.8 million. EBITDA was €158.0 million and Adjusted EBITDA was €162.6 million.
