Perkins opens online parts shop in Ireland

By Thomas Allen25 June 2019

Engine manufacturer Perkins has opened an online parts shop in the Republic of Ireland.

The online shop (www.perkins.com/shop) enables rental businesses and other machine owners to buy genuine Perkins spare parts easily and quickly. The parts, which all come with a 12-month warranty, will be available for immediate dispatch to customers in Ireland from Perkins’ Global Distribution Centre in the UK, which stocks more than 30,000 parts.

To make it easy to navigate, the shop can be searched using various parameters, including engine serial number, series or model, and part category, name or number. Also, to ensure that the correct item is being ordered, every part has a full description, image and information showing which engine uses the part.

If a part isn’t currently available, customers can register their interest in the product and a local Perkins distributor will be alerted. They will then follow up the query and can offer additional installation advice and support.

A live chat function on the site also allows customers to seek advice directly from trained Perkins staff.

The launch of the Ireland shop follows the opening of online parts shops in the US and the UK in 2017 and 2018 respectively.

Rob Collard, Aftermarket Regional Manager at Perkins, said, “In both the USA and the UK we’ve had a great response to the online shops and I’m pleased to say we’re serving many new customers with Perkins genuine parts. We’re looking forward to doing the same in Ireland.”
