Mobile glass machine is a clear favourite

Australian company AGA Fencing has installed a floor to ceiling glass wall in a two-storey house in Cairns with the aid of a 350 kg mobile glass machine from Kennards Lift & Shift.

AGA manager Scott Small explained: “The glass panels and mo bile glass machine were lifted on site up to the second storey by a Franna crane.

“The nine double glazed panels for the glass wall were 2.1 metres high by 1.18 metres wide and 12 mm thick.

"Each one weighed around 220 kg.”

The project was the first of its kind for AGA, and Mr Small said the mobile glass machine was an invaluable tool, allowing him to make adjustments to make sure each panel was located precisely and held securely.

“It has a good range of movement, is simple to operate and was easily manoeuvred in the tight and enclosed work area,” he added.

The machine also considerably improved site safety, as it made the process a two-man job rather than multiple operators working on lifting and securing.
