MEC debuts vertical mast lifts

MEC Aerial Work Platforms has launched a new product line of vertical mast lifts. The MEC Mast Electric (MME) series uses direct electric drive for high efficiency, longer duty cycles and higher product residual value, MEC said. The MME Series offers two platform heights: 20 feet (MME20) and 25 feet (MME25.)

MEC’s new vertical mast products.

“Focusing on value to our customers in their total cost of ownership, standard AGM batteries coupled with direct electric drive provides longer run times between charges, no hydraulic motors and smoother more precise controls for greater precision in tight areas,” said Gary Crook, VP of engineering. “The advantages of direct electric drive are important to our customers for high productivity on their jobsites, so just like our slab scissor line we are committed to it over the legacy hydraulic drive. It’s the very nature of our ‘Better Solution’ mission.”

The MME’s platform is comprised of steel and comes with a glide-out extension deck to give the operator almost 4 feet to work with alongside 350 pounds of capacity. A standard, full-height lift gate is also on the products. Sealed roller bearings in the Nylatron rollers in the mast columns allow for smooth elevation with a minimal gap for rigidity throughout the life of the machine, MEC said, and ground pressure of around 130 psi increases utilization across a wide range of floor types.

“When we decided to enter the mast market, we received great input on shortfalls in these types of machines and we were determined to see what we could do better. It’s what our engineering team does best,” said David White, MEC president.
