The company recently signed a distribution partnership with Osaka-based company Kurimoto, which will now expand its product range for the demolition, recycling, quarrying and mining sectors with MDS’ range of heavy-duty materials processing equipment.

Kurimoto, which is already an equipment dealer for Terex’s Finlay brand, is said to be well-regarded across Japan for its “commitment to customer satisfaction, product excellence, and market expertise”.

Raheel Qamar, Business Development Manager at MDS, said: “We are excited to welcome Kurimoto to the MDS family. Entering the Far East market is a pivotal moment for us, and we believe that Kurimoto is the perfect collaborator to help us reach and serve customers in Japan, which is renowned for equipment that is high-quality.

“Their dedication to excellence and deep local knowledge of our industry makes them an invaluable addition to our global network. I look forward to working closely with the team to build and develop MDS across Japan.”

As part of its deal, the distributor will be responsible for providing nationwide sales, service, and support for MDS’ products - including its M518R Recycling Model.

Speaking of the company’s new authorised dealer status, Yoshio Yanagida, Kurimoto General Manager, said: “We take great pride in becoming a distributor for MDS and offering their exceptional products to our customers.

“There is great potential for MDS throughout Japan, which had recycling trommels, regular screeners and scalpers but was missing mobile heavy duty trommels. With the introduction of MDS, we will be able to better process overburden in quarries as well as in demolition concrete waste.”

MDS said: “Their deep-rooted experience in the industry dates back to 1909, supplying and supporting products that contribute to the improvement of social infrastructure.

This latest news comes just months after the manufacturer, which was acquired by Terex Materials Processing in 2021 and was then rebranded in the first quarter of 2022, announced the expansion of its footprint in Europe, with the addition of two new equipment distributors for Poland and France.

MDS named Poznań-based Powerstone as its dealer for the whole of Poland, and Catecom SAS as its representative for the North-West region of France.
