Haulotte aerial work platforms are working on an expansion project at Abu Dahbi International Airport, UAE.

Some 70 units, covering the French manufacturer’s range, are being used at the Midfield Terminal Complex (MTC). The equipment has been supplied by Haulotte distributor and rental company United Gulf Equipment Rental (UGER) through a number of sales and leasing deals with different contractors working in the project.

“This is all because of our excellent service to the end user that Haulotte machines have been present for more than 18 months on this project, of course with the support of Haulotte,” said a UGER spokesperson.

The expansion of Abu Dhabi International Airport is vital to the economy of the UAE, added the spokesperson, “This project is expected to complete by the end of 2017 and we are confident not only to maintain our existing Haulotte fleet but also there is a great possibility to add new units.” Additional Haulotte manpower and spare parts will also be available on site 24 hours a day.

Abu Dhabi Airports Company (ADAC) signed an AED10.8 billion (US$3 bilion) joint venture with contractors TAV, CCC, and Arabtec in 2012 for the construction of the Midfield Terminal building (MTB), with completion set for 2017.

UGER joined the project in 2014, providing a number of Haulotte platforms, mainly big booms.

A majority of the platforms on site are articulated 32m and 41m working height booms and 43m telescopic booms. Haulotte says the 41m model is characterised by a maximum outreach of 19.8m and fast lifting speed of less than 40 seconds, while the 32m articulated and 43m telescopic booms are notable for their rough terrain capabilities.
