Haulotte has appointed former Ritchie Bros Auctioneers and Terex China executive Harry Wang as its new general manager for China, based at the company’s Shanghai office.

Mr Wang, who took up his post on 8 May, takes over from Tomie Chan, who will now be responsible for Haulotte’s sales activities in Japan, Hong Kong, Macau, South Korea and Taiwan.

The appointment adds a very experienced construction industry manager to Haulotte’s team in Asia. Mr Wang’s previous roles include two years with Caterpillar dealer WesTrac as manager of its Cat Rental Store operation; two years in a sales and marketing role for Terex China; and most recently as general manager of Ritchie Bros Auctioneers in China, where he helped launch Ritchie’s auction business in the country.

Mr Wang told Access International that he was looking forward to his new role. He said Haulotte had the infrastructure in place in the country to do well, and that he hoped the company would continue to play a key role in developing the Chinese access market.

“AWPs are still emerging in China. In tier three and tier four cities the penetration rates for access are still very low”, he said, “They still have to embrace access.”
