Global growth for Xylem

30 September 2012

Pump manufacturer and rental company Xylem is expanding its dewatering business, the company announced at MINExpo in Las Vegas last month.

Xylem expanded its mine dewatering capabilities in Panama, Brazil, Australia and Vietnam earlier this year and is now working to exploit the significant opportunities these markets present.

According to Andrew Jones, vice president and director of Xylem’s dewatering business, the company is preparing for strong growth in Panama, where it recently opened a new base.

Panama is home to two of the world’s largest, undeveloped copper deposits, and also receives extensive rainfall, making it a key market for Xylem’s products.

Further growth has seen Xylem open a new base in Kalgoorlie, Western Australia, as well as the opening of a new office in Hanoi, Vietnam, where the firm plans on expanding its Flygt and Godwin dewatering rental business.
