The spire that tops the 53-storey building, designed by Foster + Partners, reaches 310m, making Varso Tower the tallest architectural structure in the European Union (EU).

At a height of 206m, 16 trees have also been planted at the tower, meaning Varso also boasts Warsaw’s highest garden. According to HB Reavis, several dozen further trees have been planted, either within the lobby area or in the building’s surrounds.

A number of sustainable aspects of the project have resulted in it receiving an ‘Outstanding’ BREEAM classification.

Rainwater is harvested to water outdoor greenery, while low U value insulation fabric, automatic shading and blinds are used within the building, to maximise its energy performance.

Electric car charging stations have been included in the site and a high-speed bespoke lift utilises a standby mode, regenerative drives and LED lighting for energy efficiency.

A smart building management is in operation at the tower, monitors energy use, while tenants are kept informed about internal and external air quality.
