Dutch rental veterans form light equipment sales company

01 September 2011

A new light equipment supplier targeting the rental sector in Europe has been formed by three Dutch rental salesmen, André Stammis, Pieter Jansen and Alex Overtoom. The company, Rental Service Europe (RSE), will sell pressure washers, lighting towers, scaffold towers, site dumpers and light compaction and concreting equipment.

Mr Stammis was founder and owner of Bouwmachines Nederland; Mr Jansen was until recently export manager for Brendon Powerwashers, and Mr Overtoom was a partner at party rental company Stammis Horeca Verhuur.

RSE will market the Wanco lighting towers from the US; Taskman pressure washers from the UK; compaction and concreting equipment from Paclite Equipment; scaffold towers from Euroscaffold; and Thwaites dumpers (in the Netherlands only).

Pieter Jansen told IRN that the company would also be marketing a new trailerised bowserwasher mounted on either a 750 kg or 1500 kg trailer. Both units will have 10000 l capacity tanks.

The plan is also to import a wide range of Wanco's traffic management products, although RSE will start with its lighting towers.

"We want to sell 99% to rental companies", said Mr Jansen, "We are not looking for end user sales. We don't want to be huge - we know rental markets and we know what they are looking for."

Although Europe is the initial target, RSE will attend the Big Five exhibition in Dubai in November, as well as Intermat next April.

Mr Stammis will have a technical focus; Mr Jansen will have responsibility for sales and commercial aspects of the business; and Mr Overtoom will be responsible for logistics.
