Doosan Portable Power to remove Ingersoll Rand branding
By Murray Pollok04 March 2011
Doosan Infracore Portable Power (DIPP) will use ConExpo to announce the worldwide rebranding of its range of generators, compressors and lighting towers, with the Doosan name to replace Ingersoll Rand.
DIPP has been using the Ingersoll Rand name on its products since the acquisition of Ingersoll Rand's construction business by Doosan just over three years ago.
David Stahlman, vice president of global marketing at DIPP, told IRN that the company still had the rights to use the brand for a further year, but that DIPP was choosing to make the switch earlier because of the success in promoting the Portable Power name.
Products on show at the Rental Show at the end of February retained the IR brand but with stickers to indicate that the branding is to change: at Conexpo, the Ingersoll Rand brand will have disappeared.
The company also has some important product launches planned for ConExpo. Mr Stahlman said compressor with a new power source would be introduced - he said it would be a "game changer". Also on show will be a Tier IV compliant generator, the 345 kVA G325 model.
