Netherlands-based events rental and temporary structures firm De Boer has appointed Arnout de Hair as its chief executive officer, succeeding Lucas Covers, who is leaving the company after four years in the job.

An ex-Dutch Army logistics expert, Mr de Hair has worked with De Boer for 14 years and takes up his new post on 1 July 1. He has held several management board positions at De Boer and has been chief logistics officer since 2001.

De Boer's supervisory board - which thanked Mr Covers for his work for the company - welcomed the appointment; "Arnout de Hair has broad experience in the operational management of De Boer and he is well acquainted with the market and its clients.

"Under his leadership the company will move into a new phase, with a focus on strengthening productivity, developing new and innovative structures and further improving profitability."

The company said that despite economic uncertainty it was achieving significant annual growth and "has a completely full 2012 order book, including contracts at a number of major international events. De Boer will achieve a positive result this year after a challenging period."

De Boer is a leading supplier of temporary accommodation for large events and festivals, storage purposes, airport baggage handling and supermarkets. NPM Capital has been major shareholder since August 2005.

Established in 1924 and headquartered in Alkmaar, The Netherlands, De Boer has offices in Germany, UK, Belgium, Austria, France, Spain and Sweden, and representatives in Qatar, Russia and the USA.
