Access equipment manufacturer CTE has extended its partnership with firefighting equipment producer Rosenbauer International. The deal will see it provide the latter with hydraulic firefighting and rescue platforms in a joint venture.

Rosenbauer International said it owned a 70% stake in the new joint venture company – Rosenbauer Rovereto.

It said this partnership would allow it to tap into an additional sales market for technically sophisticated, high-quality hydraulic platforms, predominantly for the international market. It said it was aiming to become a market leader in hydraulic platforms.

"With the forward integration in the firefighting and rescue platform business, Rosenbauer is strengthening its position as a fire equipment provider at an international level", said Dieter Siegel, CEO of Rosenbauer International.

And Lorenzo Cipriani, president of CTE, said the agreement was an historical achievement for the group.

"Rosenbauer is the world leader in supplying of firefighting equipment and the decision to establish a new company together after years of commercial co-operation is a great acknowledgment of the high technological value and excellence reached by our company over the last ten years," he said.

"With a shared vision and agreed business plan, Rosenbauer Rovereto is aiming to become a global player in the firefighting and rescue industry in the near future.

"CTE will benefit also from more economic resources to be utilised to R&D, quality and even better after-sales and customer service of the industrial platforms that will remain the core business of CTE SpA.“

Rosenbauer Rovereto will be located at the existing CTE factory in Rovereto, Italy, with the current team and facilities remaining in place.

The new company will produce, distribute and service firefighting rescue platforms and water towers - currently produced by CTE under the B-Fire brand - as Rosenbauer products, and distribute them across Rosenbauer’s worldwide network.
