Mini crane manufacturer Maeda Seisakusho has appointed Ahern Ibérica and Ahern Denmark as its new dealers for Spain and Denmark, respectively.

The news, which comes just days after the Japan-based company announced that it had established a new subsidiary, Maeda America, in the US and is part of a strategic plan to increase its overseas sales.

Anders Karlsson, Head of Maeda sales Europe at Kranlyft Group, said, “We are very happy to start our collaboration with Ahern Family of Companies in Spain and Denmark.

“We found that we share many of the same values in our business, with a focus on quality in everything we do to promote customer satisfaction. We look forward to a long-lasting business relationship to serve our common customers.”

While full details of what equipment lines and services the Ahern companies will offer was not disclosed, it is expected that both will stock the compact spider lifts - or “crab cranes” as they are called in Japan - that Maeda is known for.

The mini cranes are designed to operate in confined spaces, with the smaller models able to fit through a 30-inch-wide doorway.

“Maeda is a strong brand that is recognised for its top-of-the-line quality and reliability,” said Enrique Garcia, Managing Director at Ahern Ibérica.

“The company is an excellent addition to our strategy of representing premium manufacturers of lifting equipment in Spain.”

Henrik Skibsted, general manager of Ahern Denmark, said, “This is a great step for both Ahern and Maeda. We see this as a great opportunity for both organizations to increase the visibility of our brands and breadth of access to the products we represent.”
