Aggreko adds three new BESS models to range

Aggreko has extended its range of battery electric storage systems (BESSs) with the addition of three new models.

The launch includes a small node 120 kW/120 kWh model, along with two large node models with 1 MW/1.2 MWh and 1 MW/1.3 MWh capacity.

The new models are said to underline the company’s focus on designing, deploying and optimizing energy solutions across a wide range of business sectors.

These new additions can be integrated with diesel, gas and renewable energy sources to overcome any site capacity constraints due to limited grid connections.

The 120 kW/120 kWh BESS is a trailer-mounted model that offers ease of manoeuvrability and low-noise operation. It features a 544A pass-through which can support large motor start equipment such as tower cranes. It can be used in island mode, as part of a hybrid system, or in parallel with other energy storage systems.

Mounted in a container, the 1 MW/Q.2 MWh model can be quickly deployed to support grid-forming and grid following applications. The containerized 1 MW/1.3 MWh model offers dependable energy delivery for situations with unpredictable loads. Features include a built-in HVAC and fire suppression systems.

As can be expected, all models operate with zero CO2 emissions.

“Because every site is different, we are proud to offer these new BESS nodes as part of our engineered energy solutions, which are tailored for customer needs and industry,” said Stephen Saal, vice president of Sales and Marketing at Aggreko North America.

“By providing a containerized, mobile design alongside our technical expertise, we meet our customers wherever they are on their energy journey, ensuring reliable outcomes that are right-sized for today and ready to scale for the future.”

With the addition of these new models, the Aggreko BESS range now extends from 24 to 1,000 kW.
