Brazilian rental company A Geradora has entered the high-capacity power rentals market with an investment in 20 Cummins power units in 0.5 MW, 100 MW and 1.5 MW sizes.

The company has long been involved in the power rental market and has a fleet of more than 3000 generators, but is now targeting larger power projects with its new Cummins fleet.

Cândido Terceiro, sales and marketing director at the company, told IRN that the investment in the large generators is part of a growth strategy that will see the company expand into new equipment sectors and open new depots in Brazil.

Based in Salvador, Bahia, A Geradora's growth has exceeded 40% in each of the last three years and it is forecasting a further 30% increase in revenues to US$115.6 million this year.

Mr Terceiro said he was confident that the "the next five years will be strong" in Brazil, even if this year has seen a slight slow down because of higher inflation and a slower pace of government investment than expected. "It's still a good market and we believe that next year and the following three years will be better."
