O.MEC takes delivery of 88th Multitel

Italian rental company O.MEC, part of the Noleggi group,  has taken delivery of its 88th truck mount from Mutlitel - the 75.5m working height MJ775.

Based on the east coast of Italy in Ancona, O.MEC provides equipment rental services across the region from a number of manufacturers, including JLG, Merlo, Manitowoc, Palazzani and Terex, and between 2020 and 2021 the rental firm added no less than 25 machines from Multitel.

Describing its relationship with O.MEC as “more a partnership than a simple supplier-customer relationship”, Multitel supplied the rental company with a range of its models, including the MJ775 articulated truck mounted platform.

Mounted on a 44 tonne Volvo 5-axle truck and with a working height of 77.5m, the specialist platform is equipped with a double jib that offers a 26m extension lenth and a 72m overhang, which allows operators navigate around obstacles.

According to Multitel, O.MEC’s clients include groups such as Eni, ex Ilva and Fincantieri, which often require platforms that can work for longer and that also offer greater working heights.

“The MJ775 has several technical features, in addition to its working height, that make it ideal for this type of operation. First of all, the maximum horizontal outreach of 38m allows a basket load of 120kg; the latter is 280kg at 35.8m outreach and 400kg at 33m,” said Multitel.

Described as a “natural fit” for construction and industrial maintenance applications, Multitel’s MJ775 also features a 360-degree continously rotating turret and a self-levelling basket with 180 degrees of rotation. 

The model was displayed at this year’s GIS exhibition in Italy.

GIS visitors had the chance to see the massive vehicle and its 77m boom at the O.MEC stand, before the platform goes back to work in new sites, including those of Fincantieri. Also in 2022 O.MEC will see an increase in the presence of the Multitel Pagliero brand with the addition of new vehicles to complete the current rental fleet.
