Temporary power rental company Aggreko has introduced a multi-megawatt power project division in Mexico as part of its expansion plan into the Americas region.

It said the new division targeted the power generation and distribution, oil and gas, and mining industries.

"Aggreko has been operating in Mexico since 2006 with a division that covers smaller energy needs,” said Ana Amicarella, managing director of the Americas power projects division.

“The country’s continued economic growth in recent years has created opportunities for the development of larger temporary power projects, from 10MW to over 200MW.

"Addressing this opportunity, Aggreko´s multi-megawatt power project division announces new in-country operations in order to respond to the constant changes that the market demands."

Aggreko provides solutions that run on diesel fuel and natural gas. The company’s global rental fleet represents a total generating capacity of over 9500MW, including more than 20000 generators capable of meeting large power requirements during unexpected growth and sudden electricity demands, or in remote locations where the public grid is not available.
