Greenmech adds ‘bite’ with new woodchipper

Premium Content

UK woodchipper specialist Greenmech is expanding its ECO range with a larger 8 inch (200 mm) EVO 205D model joining the 6 inch (150 mm) EVO 165 introduced in 2019.

The EVO 165 was introduced to offer “more bite” in the 6 inch category and Greenmech wants to do the same in the larger size, with more torque and throughput.

Greenmech’s new ECO 205D is an 8 inch (300 mm) version of its earlier EVO 165.

The 205D uses a Stage V compliant 50 hp (37 kW) Kubota diesel engine and can process up to 25 m3 of material per hour. GreenMech’s ‘Smart Sense’ controller gives overload protection and automatic load detection.

The manufacturer said the 1250 mm by 700 mm in-feed hopper is “generous”, allowing the free-flow of bulky brash and timber, which is then gripped by twin horizontal hydraulic rollers and fed to a heavy, six-disc blade flywheel.

Greenmech said tracked SAFE-Trak and SURE-Trak versions of the EVO 205D will follow later in the year and replace the well-established 19-28 models.

The EVO 205D comes with a three-year parts and labour warranty.
